Masovia
Like his ancestors, rabbi Izaak Cylkow was born and spent most of his life in Masovia. A poet once wrote – and with good reason:
This land, so pure, as if swept with angel wings quiet and flat, having suffered so much – always innocent it trusts that goodness is simply goodness, and that law is such like fields gleaming, like rye growing, like winter snow.
We are certain that a part of Cylkow’s spirit, this part in which the Polish heart sung Jewish melodies, cherished the beauty of Masovia…
Hence as illustrations for the present website, we have selected the beautiful photographs of Masovia by Mr Adam Ławnik.
